Multi-file Format Viewer:

The Multi-file Format Viewer (MFV) from SoluSoft addresses several needs of SharePoint users. It can eliminate the need for all team members to have MS Office installed on every desktop an also provides a mechanism for adding annotations to documents without altering the original document. The MFV converts all MS Office and many other typical business documents to a standard image file and enables the user to view documents regardless of the native viewers installed on the client PC. These image versions are presented to the user in the MFV interface and it adds numerous annotation capabilities to the viewer’s arsenal of tools. The viewer itself is a lightweight application that is automatically downloaded the first time it is needed on a specific machine. Once the user has completed the review of the document only the annotations are saved back to a custom SharePoint database for future use leaving the original document untouched.

i2Scan Batch Scanning Solution:

In applications where it is necessary to add documents to a SharePoint portal site that originally exist in paper form the i2Scan Batch Scanning Solution will be available to meet those needs. The i2Scan product has robust batch scanning features as well as sophisticated recognition tools that allow documents to be automatically indexed and categorized for use in a number of Document Management solutions. New features will soon be available that will allow batched to be automatically imported into the appropriate SharePoint portal site quickly and easily. A new SharePoint output format readies the documents for importation into the system and the SharePoint Capture Broker automatically searches for documents and their associated full-text versions to be added to the portal. Feature rich OCR, ICR and Barcode capabilities in i2Scan make this integration a snap. The SharePoint Capture Broker provides a configuration interface to the brokers service that is both simple to use and powerfully effective. Whether it’s the importation of incoming mail or back file conversion of project plans and specifications, the i2Scan Batch Scanning Solution will provide a new aspect to the use SharePoint in many environments.

Enhanced SharePoint Workflow Designer:

Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 introduced a workflow feature using the Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation to build workflows in the SharePoint Workflow Designer. While a powerful new feature, the designer works like a wizard and does not make full use of the features available from the Foundation. SoluSoft has begun the development of an enhanced designer using Visio to allow business analysts to visually design SharePoint workflows that make full use of the features available in the Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation. With over a decade of experience in building workflow products SoluSoft brings its expertise to bear on this underutilized capability which will open up new avenues to utilize SharePoint for different applications that may involve more complex needs.

Human Resources:

The Human Resources solution template comes with the basic features that every HR department needs. Implemented as a SharePoint collaborative portal site, it manages the entire employee life cycle from candidate interviews to annual appraisals. The heart of the template is in the ability to enter and manage data about each employee and to link that to the typical interactions with an employee. For example, each request for vacation time can be routed through an approval workflow process and the result of that approval stored as scheduled leave time. Annual appraisals can also be created and routed for approvals of both the content of the review and any increase in remuneration or recommendation for a change in employee status.

Marketing and Sales:

The Marketing and Sales template allows an organization to quickly implement a SharePoint portal to help users in the Marketing and Sales organizations to more effectively collaborate in numerous ways. The Customer Management sections allow users to maintain a list of customers and each interaction with them. This allows for a central point where all customer information is maintained and managed. If a problem exists with a customer, then the status of the support issues can be input and tracked so that if management has scheduled a meeting with the customer, they can be easily updated of the status of the issue before the meeting and prepare answers prior to the customer addressing any concerns at what had been thought to be a casual lunch meeting.
